Popped out to post a letter...

Last night was the first proper chilly night of winter, excluding the wet and cold which comes with storms and heavy rain. We have been basking in summery temperatures, here by the sea and this morning the bird bath was 'half' frozen for a change. The sun came out and the ice soon melted. I popped out to post a letter this afternoon and there were few people about.

The recent storms had stirred up the beach and I was rather pleased to have found the above clam-like shell with its preserved hoard.

I may just write a letter later so that I can pop out to the post and see where it takes me.
